The Bright Supernova Observing Group is a collaboration of astronomers working on supernovae (SNe) at Szeged Observatory, Konkoly Observatory and Baja Observatory, Hungary. The aim of this research is
to obtain long-term, good-quality light curves of current SNe to collect optical spectra of bright SNe in the photospheric as well as in the nebular phase to enlarge the sample of calibrated data of well-observed nearby SNe to contribute to the improvement of cosmic distance measurements based on SNe.
